In terms of selling points, I think the interior of Model X Plaid has two features: the first is the popular 17-inch sunflower central control screen. The reason why it is named "Sunflower" is because this large screen can be adjusted at an angle of about 20 degrees. After actual experience, I found that this humanized design can greatly improve the convenience of daily car use, and it is quite friendly to both the driver and the co-driver.

In addition, this large screen has a built-in processor with 10 trillion floating-point computing capabilities, and the resolution has reached 2200*1300. It is also connected to the Steam platform, and users can connect the controller to play games, which is why many people say that the performance of the central control screen of Model X Plaid is comparable to that of Sony PS5.

In contrast, the small screen in the rear used to control the air conditioner and watch videos seems a bit underwhelming.

The second is the Yoke steering wheel. This rectangular steering wheel, like the falcon-wing door, is a very eye-catching design. According to the official statement, the special three-nine-point grip design on the Yoke steering wheel is very suitable for high-speed driving scenarios.

For most consumers who are accustomed to round steering wheels, it takes some time to get used to the Yoke steering wheel for the first time. In particular, common function keys such as turn signals, wipers, and high and low beams are all integrated into the three o'clock and nine o'clock positions with the blessing of the Yoke steering wheel.

One more thing to talk about here is the shift module. The shift module of Model X Plaid is special because it is integrated into the central control screen. In daily use, you need to step on the brake first, and then the gear shift task bar will be displayed on the far left side of the screen. Only then can you complete the gear shift according to actual needs. This function has always been controversial. Many people say that the way of touch shifting is inconvenient, but after actual experience, I found that once I get used to it, touch is the fastest way to shift gears.

It is worth mentioning that. Car owners can authorize the built-in Autopilot sensor to complete automatic gear shifting. This function sounds cool, but unfortunately I haven’t pushed this function yet during my test drive. I can only know the specific effect after the follow-up OTA is completed.

Some people worry that if the screen freezes, it will be impossible to change gears. In fact, it is not possible. Just touch the edge of the triangular warning light on the central armrest to light up the spare gear shifting sign, and then select the gear according to the needs.

Personal guess, Model X Plaid has cut off more than half of the traditional elements such as steering wheel, shift paddle and control paddle. It should be to make way for FSD automatic driving assistance, anyway, automatic driving is used later. If you are a bit of a conspiracy theory, you can also think that Tesla is just trying to save costs.

Regarding the question of whether to choose the Yoke steering wheel, my suggestion is: If FSD is not activated in your area, then don’t choose it. If you deny it, you will find that the Yoke steering wheel is not as easy to use as the traditional round wheel. 

For other aspects of the interior, I still apply the previous sentence: familiar formula, familiar taste. At least in terms of basic configuration, ride experience, storage space, etc., I haven't found any more talk for the time being. Although some people on the Internet said that the ride experience is good, but after a half-day test drive, I think the performance of Model X Plaid in this respect is nothing but merit. Taking the seats as an example, the first two rows are indeed equipped with integrated independent seats, and the padding, support, and length are also in place. However, the second row of seats only supports overall adjustment, that is to say, they cannot lie flat, and there are no armrests, so the actual sitting experience is not very good.

Finally, let's talk about the power part. I often see people asking what Plaid means on the Internet before. In fact, it represents the high-performance version of Model X. Looking at it by extension, this is Musk's private use of public equipment. He directly picked up the content of his favorite "SPACEBALLS".

So, how high-performance is the Model X Plaid?
